Kiril Kirov’s “Quarantine” translates the experience of isolation through the language of allegory and visual paradox. The figure, deprived of a face and replaced by a closed spherical shape, is cut off from the world, but remains faced with its most precious resource – its own consciousness. Offered as food, the brain becomes a symbol of time spent alone with thoughts, fears and internal contradictions. With its characteristic precision and ironic sharpness, the work poses the question of what remains of a person when the outside world suddenly shrinks to the limits of his own head.
