In “Purgatorio,” Zhivko Mutafchiev weaves literary references, symbolic imagery, and contemporary visual sensibility into a composition imbued with a sense of transition. The figures, immersed in silent movement, are reminiscent of a journey between different states of consciousness, while the ethereal linear form above them creates the impression of an invisible force that connects the individual layers of the image.

Text, number, and image are superimposed in a single visual environment where reality and allegory coexist. The work does not offer a single narrative, but invites the viewer to their own reading of the path, change, and space between past and future.
