ABRIS Graphic Gallery presents Petar Lazarov - “Exhibition Engravings” and presentation of the book “Peter Lazarov” Plovdiv, ABRIS Graphic Gallery, May 22, 2026 6:30 p.m. - ABRIS Graphic Gallery invites lovers of graphic art to a solo exhibition of engravings by the artist Petar Lazarov. The opening will take place at the gallery, on 17 Otets Paisii Street. The event will present a selection of graphic works by Petar Lazarov - an author with a recognizable visual style and a strong presence in contemporary graphics. At the exhibition, visitors will be able to see works created using a detailed engraving technique, saturated with symbolism, drama and depth. His works are characterized by philosophical and universal themes, as well as the precision and elegance of the drawing. Alongside with the exhibition, a book, uniting the work of the graphic artist, will be presented. The meeting will provide an opportunity for a conversation about graphic art, as well as the creative process. Born in Plovdiv, Peter Lazarov is among the established names in Bulgarian graphic art. His works are included in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, along with the works of Dürer, Escher and Rembrandt, and in 2008 he was selected as one of the ten best graphic artists at the World Ex-libris Congress in Beijing. He is the winner of a number of international awards, including the First Prize for Graphic Art at the Annual Art Exhibition in Chongqing, China, the Award for Outstanding Engraving from Abroad, the 66th Annual Award, Great Britain and the Jury Prize at the International Graphic Exhibition, Maastricht, the Netherlands. With his remarkable visual language, he combines various graphic techniques - wood engraving, woodcut, handmade author's books and exlibris.
