Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova belongs to those authors for whom graphics are both a profession, a scientific study and a personal destiny. Born in 1977 in Minsk into a family of artists, she grew up in an environment where art was present not as a choice, but as a natural language for communicating with the world. After graduating from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts with a degree in Graphics, she continued her education with research in the field of theory and history of art, devoting a significant part of her work to the history of European and Belarusian ex-libris.

This unusual meeting between artist and researcher also determines the character of her works. In Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova's graphics, the precise line is never just a technical achievement - it brings a sense of memory, mythology and inner world. Female images, natural motifs, sea horizons and symbolic compositions build a poetic visual reality in which beauty and reflection exist in delicate balance.

International recognition comes early. Among the most prestigious awards in her career are the Grand Prize of the Bookplate Triennial in Bratislava, the First Prize for Gravure Printing at the International Bookplate Biennial in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, as well as the Special Jury Prize at the Biblioteca di Bodio Lomnago Competition in Italy. She has participated in dozens of international exhibitions, biennials and graphic forums, and her works are included in collections and specialized graphic collections in Europe and Asia.

In addition to being an active artist, Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova is also an established specialist in the field of graphic heritage. For years, she headed the scientific and exhibition department of the Museum of Modern Art in Minsk and is the curator of its bookplate collection – one of the most significant in the region. Her expertise also makes her a sought-after member of international juries, including several editions of the International Bookplate Competition in Varna.

Today Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova lives and works in Sofia, where she continues to actively create new graphic cycles and participate in exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. Whether we consider her etchings as stories, symbols or visual poetry, each work reflects the author's characteristic ability to transform the fine line into a carrier of deep emotion and cultural memory.
