Petar Velichkov is an artist for whom graphics are both a profession and a way of thinking. Born in 1974 in Plovdiv, he graduated from the Veliko Tarnovo University "St. Cyril and Methodius" with a degree in Graphics, and later gained professional experience both in Bulgaria and in the United States. Today he lives and works in Sofia, developing his practice between fine art and graphic design.
His work is distinguished by a free attitude towards techniques and materials. Working in the field of graphics, drawing and mixed techniques, Velichkov creates compositions in which real images and abstract suggestions meet in a delicate balance. His works often feature an interest in structure, contrast and visual rhythm - qualities that reveal both his graphic training and his sensitivity to contemporary visual language.
Over the years, he has participated in a number of exhibitions and art projects, and his works find a place in private collections in Bulgaria and abroad. Whether working in black and white or using more expressive color, the artist remains consistent in his quest to create images that impact through atmosphere and association, rather than through a literal narrative.
Today, Petar Velichkov continues to actively create and present his works in exhibitions and gallery projects. His art carries a characteristic sense of silence and inner concentration - a quality that invites the viewer to linger longer in front of the image and discover their own meanings in it.
