Vasil Kolev – Vasillo is a contemporary Bulgarian graphic artist and teacher, known for his conceptual and highly personal visual language. He works mainly in the fields of graphics, etching and painting, often combining classical printing techniques with modern symbolic thinking and philosophical themes.
His work explores memory, identity and the “architecture” of the inner world – the house, the body and space become metaphors for the human soul. His works often have a sense of rupture, traces of experience and visual “noises” that create a deep emotional and intellectual multi-layeredness.
In addition to being an artist, he is also a teacher at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, where he works with young authors and develops the contemporary Bulgarian graphic school.
