Kalina Kraleva is an artist for whom graphics and painting do not exist as separate territories, but as different paths to the same inner world. Born in 1983 in Sofia to a family of artists, she initially took the path of architecture before discovering her true calling in fine art. She graduated with a degree in Graphics from the National Academy of Arts, where she formed her characteristic visual language, combining technical precision and strong poetic imagination.
At the heart of her work is the search for metaphor. Instead of recreating the visible world, Kraleva constructs images that convey a sense of dream, memory, or inner experience. Whether working in color etching, aquatint, or watercolor, her works are distinguished by delicate symbolism and a sense of quiet, contemplative emotion. It is this ability to transform ideas and feelings into visual images that makes her works easily recognizable.
A special place in her creative path is occupied by exlibris and small graphics - genres in which Kalina Kraleva has gained international recognition. She is a winner of awards from prestigious competitions in Italy, Poland, Finland and the USA, and her works have been presented in exhibitions in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
Today, Kalina Kraleva lives and works in Sofia, continuing to actively develop both graphics and watercolor painting. Regardless of the technique, her works carry the same sensitivity - a desire to capture those fragile and difficult-to-name states that exist somewhere between reality and imagination. It is there that the author's most recognizable signature is found - in her ability to transform images into poetry.
