Dimitar Kirov (1935-2008), also known as Di Kiro, was a Bulgarian artist born in Istanbul. Kirov’s works are in the field of painting and monumental art – mural painting (frescoes, seco), mosaic, and sgraffito.
Di Kiro recreates sonorous harmonies through bright colors, thus making a unique musical interpretation of painting. During his creative journey, the artist dwells repeatedly on the subject of the past - he is moved by both ancient and mythological time as well as legends and layers in Bulgarian history. He puts a particularly deep feeling into painting landscapes from the three cities that have remained forever in his heart - Plovdiv, Istanbul and Paris.
Di Kiro has won dozens of national and international awards. His works can be found in museums and private collections, both in Bulgaria and around the world.
